Seeing Symphony.

2.) What is something about you that you think I might not know?

I have read the whole dictionary (around 1000 pages or so).

3.) What are the three best things about being you?

My family. My book collection. And my church.

4.) What do you like best--and what do you like least--about your dad?

Best: I like that you always have an answer for stuff and that you're not afraid of difficult questions. Least: That everything feels like it has to happen right away. It feels like if I want to put off having a conversation or whatever, I can't.

5.) What do you like best--and what do you like least--about your mom?

Best: I like that she's really affectionate and not scared to show us that she loves us. Least: Hmm... When she flashes her cheesy grin at me when she knows I'm mad.

6.) How would you design a treehouse?

I would build it out of hickory wood and it would have at least 16 windows adorned with iron siding and an iron door that can be locked from the inside. It only has one key and it's very big and very ornate, and I'm the only one that has it. On the inside, there would be a big TV streaming 'Once Upon a Song' non-stop. And on the 2nd story, there would be beds and a really nice yellow rug.

7.) If you were a teacher and could teach your students anything at all, what would you teach them?

I would probably teach English. I don't think there's any subject I would rather teach than English.

Maybe having a lot of the same aspirations and goals as an adult but not being able to fulfill them because you're not an adult yet.

Getting to see Biltmore Estate in North Carolina for my 16th birthday.

Angel's Additional Questionnaires:

Questions for Tony

Tony Moritz's Q & A Session

Exclusive Interview with Tony Moritz (age 14)...

1.) What is something about you that you think I might not know?

Well, now you're making me think about all my secrets....I guess one normal thing that you don't know about me....I dunno, I kind of tell you like everything, so it's kind of hard to think of anything, since we've been in quarantine lately...I don't really have many secrets. They're more just random things...I like basically every, single food I've ever tried EXCEPT for foods that have been salted way too much. And water chestnuts.

2.) What do you like best--and what do you like least--about your dad?

I like the conversations that I have with him. And one thing I like least? Um....uh...sometimes when he doesn't remember stuff, then he will, uh, he'll act like his memory is fact and he'll act like it never happened, even if other people disagree.

3.) What do you like best--and what do you like least--about your mom?

That you like do so much for us and take so much time out of your day for us. And least? Uh, I dunno, sometimes you're in a bad mood, but that's about it.

4.) How would you design a treehouse?

How would I design a treehouse?! Well, I feel like it kind of depends on the tree. If I could also design the TREES, I'd have four trees that lean in towards one point, so you could climb up by any of the four trees. And inside i'd have lots of junk food and blankets. And a roof. And four walls. I wasn't really expecting that question.

5.) If you were a teacher and could teach your students anything at all, what would you teach them?

Hmm...I would teach them...I'd probably teach them about social interaction and happiness because those are two things I've thought a lot about and know a lot about.

6.) If you could time-travel, where and when would you go?

Well, I mean if I'm thinking practically, then I'd say I'd maybe go to the end of the world to see where it is. And If I time traveled, then I could stay there. What if I traveled to the end of world to...what's that Bible word? (Me: the apocalypse?) No, the other Bible word. (Me: The rapture?) YEAH! The rapture. I would go there to see when it was...would that mean I'd get like a free easy pass to heaven? Aside from that, I'd probably travel back in time to near the start of America to see what the living conditions were like and how different it is from now because I think it would be interesting.

7.) What makes you feel thankful?

Often, I feel thankful buy comparing my life to just like worse things. Because I think, first of all, I'm ALIVE, which seems improbably in the first place. I'd expect for there to always be nothing, but here we are! And I think about how we live in America where the struggle is not eating too much food instead of never having enough. America's problems are so much smaller than other area of the world and the small details I obsess over are so small while other people are just trying to survive and I'm just trying to not embarrass myself.

8.) If you had three wishes, what would they be?

Well, assuming I can't wish for more wishes, then I would wish that the future of my life didn't have some giant catastrophic event that tore it apart. And that me and my whole family keeps their faith in God. And my third wish would be....that I had...this is kind of a weird one, but that I had full control over the laws of certain areas so I could make the changes I wanted to, then give up my powers. Like making abortion illegal everywhere, cause that's totally murder. Then I would put laws over the law makers so that they could't terrorize the people. Then I'd give some kind of constitution to all the people so they have some kind of human rights. Then I'd give it up because I' wouldn't want to have that much power all the time.

9.) What is the hardest thing about being a teenager?

I guess not having the privileges of an adult. Like being able to drive and get a job and get married.

10.) If you made a cave in the woods, what would be inside it?

Probably some giant ancient looking puzzles so someone could go on an adventure. And some special prize at the end for whoever completes the puzzle, cause that would probably be fun for them.

11.) What are interesting or unusual things about your friends?

There are a LOT of interesting or unusual things. I'm not sure I can do it justice. I don't even know where to start. I won't be naming names here, but I have a friend who turns everything into an inappropriate joke, and another one who takes everything as some sort of innuendo.

12.) What do you want to be when you grow up?

A married software developer, with a wife and like four kids...and, um, I dunno a bunch more friends. With a good social life. And also, um, a strong believer in God.

13.) What's a memory that makes you happy?

I have a whole lot of memories that make me happy. But sometimes like right now, I'll have times where the one that I'm trying to think of is fogged up. I guess one that I can remember right now was when I got baptized. That was a good memory. I remember when I was sitting in the tub and the woman was reading my testimony, and I remember that I had like these chills...and I felt kind of like scared and excited. And I got to hug a bunch of people afterwards.

14.) What advice would you give your parents?

Hmm...keep up the good work.
